Fuel Poverty & Respiratory Health Programme

Cheshire & Merseyside

Delivered strategic PR and media relations support for a regional fuel poverty programme designed to identify and support vulnerable households, including families with young children at risk of respiratory illness.

The initiative brought together NHS organisations, local authorities and delivery partners to use population health data to proactively identify households living in cold homes and at risk of avoidable health deterioration. The programme required careful communications to balance public interest, data sensitivity and political scrutiny, while ensuring the focus remained on patient outcomes and preventative care.

Strategic support included development of clear messaging for senior healthcare leaders, coordination across multiple stakeholders, proactive media pitching and preparation for national and broadcast coverage. The story was successfully placed with Forbes, the BBC, Nursing Times and regional press, helping to position the programme as an example of innovative, preventative healthcare delivery.

The communications programme supported the wider strategic objectives of the partnership and contributed to the initiative winning a Gold HSJ Partnership Award.

This work required a strong understanding of health policy, data governance, public accountability and media risk, alongside close collaboration with NHS leaders and regional partners to ensure messaging was accurate, responsible and aligned across organisations.

International Health Technology Promotion

New Zealand Trade & Enterprise

Provided senior strategic PR support to promote New Zealand’s fastest-growing health technology and pharmaceutical exporters internationally, strengthening global confidence in the country as an innovative and credible healthcare market.

The programme focused on high-growth companies, including Orion Health and Atlantis Healthcare, helping to position them as globally competitive digital health and medical technology leaders. This included organising business networking and media opportunities at the America’s Cup in San Francisco, creating a platform for international investors, policymakers and healthcare leaders to engage directly with New Zealand innovation.

Alongside event strategy, delivered a coordinated global PR and marketing campaign to raise awareness of New Zealand’s top 50 fastest-growing exporters, with a strong focus on health technology and life sciences. The work generated extensive regional and international media coverage for participating businesses across trade, healthcare and mainstream press, increasing visibility in key export markets.

Support also included speech writing and briefing for the Minister of Economic Development, ensuring messaging aligned with national economic priorities while resonating with international stakeholders and industry audiences.

This work required close collaboration with government officials, high-growth exporters and delivery partners, alongside a strong understanding of global media dynamics, political context and the regulatory environment surrounding healthcare innovation.

Island-wide Remote Monitoring Rollout - Strategic Health Tech Communications

Jersey

Supported a leading health technology company on the communications strategy for the rollout of the first island-wide remote patient monitoring service in Jersey. This initiative represented a significant advancement in digital health delivery, integrating remote monitoring across an entire population and demonstrating the potential for scalable, preventative care.

Our role focused on structuring and delivering proactive media engagement and reputation support around the launch, ensuring the story resonated with both technical healthcare audiences and broader public audiences. We developed messaging and media materials tailored to healthcare, technology and policy outlets, positioning the programme as a landmark example of digital health innovation.

The campaign generated extensive regional, national and specialist coverage, including multiple features on the BBC, as well as stories in Digital Health, UKAuthority, Computer Weekly and other tier-one outlets. Coverage highlighted the impact of remote monitoring on patient care, innovation in health systems, and the broader implications for healthcare delivery in similar jurisdictions.

This work required careful handling of public scrutiny, data sensitivity and stakeholder alignment - balancing technical accuracy with accessible storytelling across media formats. Close collaboration with clinical, operational and executive stakeholders ensured consistent messaging and successful delivery of communications outcomes aligned to organisational and public interest goals.
